Our Story
NexGen Aviation launched in 2010 with one leased Piper Cherokee and a bold idea: to build a flight school that invests in the future of aviation. Founded by Dale and Brandon—two seasoned professional pilots with over 40 years of combined experience in charter and airline operations—Nexgen was born from firsthand knowledge of what pilot training should be.
They saw what was missing in Lexington, Kentucky: high-quality instruction, modern aircraft, and a supportive, student-first environment. So they built the kind of school they wished they’d had—one focused not just on flight hours, but on mentorship, professionalism, and preparing the next generation of pilots.
Today, NexGen operates a standardized fleet of cutting-edge Diamond DA-40s and DA-42s, offering personalized training that’s rooted in real-world readiness. We’re more than a flight school—we’re your launchpad to a career or lifetime hobby in aviation.
